Dr. Silas Mzungu Chitibwi is a Veterinary Surgeon by Profession and a Community worker by choice and practice. He is an admin of Lenana School (Duke of York) and the University of Nairobi Veterinary School.
Dr. Silas Mzungu Chitibwi is a Veterinary Surgeon by Profession and a Community worker by choice and practice.
He is an admin of Lenana School (Duke of York) and the University of Nairobi Veterinary School. Upon graduation from the University, he worked with the Department of Veterinary Services of the Government of Kenya in various parts of the country.
He took early voluntary retirement from government service in 1995 and went into private practice at Kilifi. He engaged in mixed farming, business, and community work with emphasis on health. He went into elective politics in 2007 and was elected Councilor for Mwarakaya Ward. He was re-elected in 2013 as the first Member of the County Assembly for the same Ward and became a pioneer member of Kilifi County Assembly.
He is a dedicated member of the Methodist Church in Kenya and holds various position locally and nationally. He is a founder chairman of Tuungane Pwani, a non-profit organization dedicated to improved health of the public.
