Governor
Hon. Amason J. Kingi

Governor Amason Jeffah Kingi is the first and current serving Governor for Kilifi County under the devolved government. He is a self-risen politician who stepped in the house of assembly for the first time in 2007 as the Member of Parliament for Magarini. He is also known for the amazing development that has taken place in Kilifi county under his reign.

Governor Amason Kingi was born in Malindi, Kilifi County in 1972. He started his academic journey at Magarini primary. He later joined Alliance boys where he completed his secondary studies. He then proceeded to the University of Nairobi where he graduated with a degree in Law.

Jeffah Kingi joined active politics in the year 2007. He was then elected to represent Magarini Constituency as the Member of Parliament. Before joining active politics, Amason Kingi served as a minister for Fisheries. He is currently serving for his second and last term as the Governor of Kilifi County.

Deputy Governor
Hon. Gideon Edmund Saburi

Hon Eng. Gideon Edmund Saburi is a Civil Engineer. He holds a MSc in Engineering Construction and Management (Burmingham UK), BSc in Civil Eng (JKUAT), HND in Construction Eng and OND in Civil Eng. He is a registered Engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya and is also a Lead Expert in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Hon. Gideon has over 34 years of professional experience in managing and supervising large infrastructure and capacity development projects with provision of  technical and management support in the design and implementation of diverse integrated projects for the benefit of communities, thereby contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.

As Deputy Governor, Eng Saburi is the Principal Assistant to the Governor. Key projects he is credited for include the Blue Economy project, Tourism recovery initiatives by leading delegations to International trade fairs to UK, Berlin and Italy; Internatioal Blue Economy Conference in Japan and China;  Spearheading building up of County bankable projects among other projects.

Hon Saburi served as the first CEC Roads, Transport and Public Works (2013/14) and helped set up structures for the department including writing the first Strategic Plan for the department. He is credited with initiating the Fire Station by setting standard and acquiring suitable Fire Engines.
