150 eye surgeries treating cataracts and conjunctival growth were conducted this weekend by Kilifi Department of Health Services surgeons with support from Safe Surgical Aid surgeons.
The eye care camp, which is on its final day was funded by the State of Kuwait through the Relief Organization of East Africa. The Kuwait ambassador to Kenya H.E Qusai Rashed Al-Farhan visited Malindi Sub County hospital to witness the progress of the camp.
Screening of eye patients started last year on 28th December, running till yesterday, at 10 health facilities within Malindi Sub County. Over 600 patients benefited from treatment for eye conditions.
