The financing of community health services including the payment of stipends for over 3800 community health volunteers is crucial for Kilifi County to attain Universal Health Coverage
A 2nd drafting workshop on the Community Health Services Bill was held today to introduce the Kilifi County Assembly Health Committee to the bill
In attendance was the CECM for Health Services Hon. Peter Mwarogo and members of the committee led by the Chairperson Hon. Edward Kazungu Ziro, Hon. Mary Anzazi Maneno (Vice Chairperson), Hon. Mohammed Kadhengi Mwambire, Hon. Patrice Sikuku Abong, Hon. Oscar Iha Wanje, Hon. Stephen Baya Mwaro and Hon. Moses Furaha Kea.
The two-day workshop funded by UNICEF will see the legislators, the county health management team, and the technical working group discuss key provisions of the bill.
The enactment of the bill will greatly enhance access to quality healthcare services in Kilifi as envisioned in the manifesto of H.E Gideon Maitha Mungaro.
