A Waste To Value Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant is currently under construction in Malindi.
The sludge will be converted to briquettes which are more sustainable and more energy-efficient and would reduce the pressure on our forests and lower pollution levels in our urban areas.
CEC Water Hon. Omar Ahmed Omar and MAWASCO Managing Director Gerald Mwambire met the designers of the plant Sanivation, led by Director of Partnerships Dickson Ochieng on the sidelines of the World Toilet Day celebrations at HGM primary in Malindi town.
The project that is funded by the World Bank will be completed in June 2023.
Another waste treatment plant is also under construction in Watamu.
