Unveiling of Kilifi County Beach Safety unit
....H.E Amason Kingi presided over the pass-out ceremony of over 50 Kilifi County Beach Safety Unit and Traffic Marshals. Thereafter, the Governor officially launched the Kilifi County Rescue boat that will assist during times of disaster.
With Kilifi controlling almost 60% of the Kenyan coastline, the County Government will purchase 2 more rescue boats in the next financial year and employ more beach safety officers to man the coastline.
The two boats will be used for rescue operations in Mtwapa and Malindi towns. The traffic marshals will help ease traffic and decongest our major towns. Moreover, the County has recruited over 70 new forest guards and reinforcement officers to help secure our forests and revenue collection.
“My administration is keen on creating employment opportunities for the people of Kilifi while at the same time ensuring their safety and well-being. With devolution at hand, we have made progress after progress and Kilifi will prosper,” said Governor Kingi during the Unveiling of the Beach Safety unit.
